Mid-summer, Middle-Bay racing is HERE! Ready to do it again?

Registration is LIVE for The Patuxent Pursuit!



The Patuxent Pursuit will be a 3-day event held July 17-19, 2026.

Friday starts with a pursuit race for all competitors.
Saturday and Sunday shift into two courses with windward/leeward racing for the PHRF Spinnaker and One Design classes and more pursuit-style racing for the Navigator/Cruiser course.

The parties will be at the SMSA clubhouse.

SMSA is hoping for another great turn-out for The Patuxent Pursuit!

Registration includes racing on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday and 1 regatta shirt (shirt not guaranteed 1 July or later).

Meal tickets for Saturday evening dinner and Sunday Social Food as well as additional pre-order shirts may be added during original registration or separate from registration via the Online Store (Below).

Please let your crew know about meal tickets and shirt purchases. Limited quantities available at the event.

The Patuxent Pursuit is CBYRA Sanctioned!

Per request, The Patuxent Pursuit now has CBYRA Sanction Numbers! Going for CBRYA high point? Register now to gain more points! Specific CBYRA Sanction numbers will be posted when the Greenbook is released.

PHRF Certificates

Racers do not have to wait for current valid rating certificates to enter. (Racers must have required certificates before July 12, 2026. See Notice of Race.)

THURSDAY, 16 July 2026

1700 – 1900 - Check-In for Friday, Saturday, and Sunday racing.
1700 – 2100 - Welcome Social.

FRIDAY, 17 July 2026

1200 – First boat(s) (slowest) start for Distance Pursuit Race.
1630 – Pursuit race Time Expires.
1730-1900 - Check-in for Saturday and Sunday racing.
1730 – Welcome Social - Food truck planned.
1830 –Distance race awards.

SATURDAY, 18 July 2026

1030 - First warning signal for race one on Windward/Leeward course. Note: Additional races will follow at the discretion of the race committee. No warning signal is planned after 1500 on Saturday.
1200 – First boat(s) (slowest) start on Navigator/Cruiser course.
*Social to follow racing.
1800 Dinner. (Pre-Purchased Ticket required for Dinner (see para 7.7.1) - onsite tickets may not be available).
1900 Results.

SUNDAY, 19 July 2026

1030 - First warning signal for race one on Windward/Leeward course.
Note: Additional races will follow at the discretion of the race committee. No warning signal is planned after 1430 on Sunday.
1200 – First boat(s) (slowest) start on Navigator/Cruiser course.
*Social to follow racing.
1630 Social begins.
1730 Food. (Pre-Purchased Ticket required for Social Food (see para 7.7.2) - onsite tickets may not be available). 1830 Results.
