SMSA 2009 Open Events
SMSA is pleased to announce the following open events for the 2009 sailing season.
We welcome all racers who are willing to make the trip to our Solomons Island
location. Our races are sailed on the Patuxent River very near where it empties
into the Chesapeake Bay.

Summer Regatta
General Race Info
Date: June 21, 2008
Skippers meeting: 10:00am, first race at 11:30am.
Classes/Starts: Any class with a five (5) to six (6) boats at the skippers meeting will have
a combined start but be scored separately.
Any class with seven (7) or more boats at the skippers meeting will have their own start and be scored
separately.
All others will start and be scored in the Portsmouth class.

Entry Info
Complete an SMSA Small Boat Regatta entry form and either hand in at the skipper's meeting or return it via eMail.
Entry Fee
Entry Fee $35.00*
Social Info
Awards and informal socializing will occur at the SMSA Clubhouse on Saturday after the races.
*This race fee is considered paid if the registering yacht has paid the SMSA member or non-member Thursday night race fee.

SMSA 12th Annual Small Boat Invitational Regatta
General Race Info
Date: Sept 20-21, 2008
Competitor's meeting: 11:00am, first signal at 12:00pm on Saturday. Lift opens at 8:00am both days.
Classes/Starts:Starts will be offered for the Interlake, Laser, Lightning and Buccaneer one-design classes,
all other boats will will start and be scored in the Portsmouth class, unless other arrangements are made
with the race director prior to the event.
Registration Info
Registration is at the SMSA Clubhouse and opens at 8:00am Saturday.

$55 for early registration.
$80 for late-registration (after September 14, 2008)
Social Info
Dinner and first night awards at the SMSA Clubhouse Saturday 6:30pm.
Awards and light snacks/beverages at the clubhouse following racing on sunday.
