Getting to SMSA  


The SMSA Clubhouse is conveniently located on Main Street in Solomons Island, Maryland. Click on "www.somd.com/travel", to view maps of the area, and to learn about many of the restaurants, shops, hotels, inns, and bed & breakfasts in the Solomons Island area. There is a State boat ramp also located in Solomons, under the Governor Thomas Johnson Bridge.

 
Directions from Points North - Washington D.C. and Northern Virginia
Take I-95/495 to MD Route 4 (Pennsylvania Ave. extended) exit heading south (towards Upper Marlboro). Proceed south on Route 4 approximately 45 miles. Just prior to the Governor Thomas Johnson Bridge (Patuxent River Scenic Bridge), bear right onto MD Route 2 South towards Solomons Island. This will take you under the bridge and into the area of the Calvert County Visitors Center. Turn right towards Solomons Island. The SMSA Clubhouse is located approximately 3/4 of a mile on the left side of Main Street, across from the Gazebo on the boardwalk. Public parking is provided on the boardwalk side of the street.
 
Directions from Points North via MD Route 50/US 301 and Annapolis
Over the Chesapeake Bay Bridge West to MD Route 2 (Annapolis). Exit at Route 2 South and follow Route 2 South (Solomons Island Road) out of Annapolis. Route 2 will merge with MD Route 4 and continue south to Solomons Island area (approx. 60 miles from Annapolis). Just prior to the Governor Thomas Johnson Bridge (Patuxent River Scenic Bridge), bear right onto MD Route 2 South towards Solomons Island. Travel under the bridge and into the area of the Calvert County Visitors Center. Turn right towards Solomons Island. The SMSA Clubhouse is located approximately 3/4 of a mile on the left side of Main Street, across from the Gazebo on the boardwalk. Public parking is provided on the boardwalk side of the street.
 
Directions from Points South (via I-95):
Take I-95 North to VA Route 207 northeast. Turn off Route 207 onto US 301 north; proceed on US 301 into Maryland via the Harry W. Nice - Potomac River Bridge. Note that this is a toll bridge, free as you enter MD, but there is a toll on your return to VA. In Maryland, make a right turn off US 301 onto MD Rout 234. Follow Route 234 approximately 19 miles to MD Route 5 in Leonardtown, MD. Follow MD Route 5 south to MD Route 4. Make a left turn onto MD Rte 4 (north/east). Proceed on Route 4, crossing over MD Route 235 and then over the Governor Thomas Johnson Bridge (Patuxent River Scenic Bridge) to Solomons. Once over the bridge make an immediate right onto MD Route 2 South (Main Street, Solomons). The SMSA Clubhouse is located approximately 3/4 of a mile on the left side of Main Street, across from the Gazebo on the boardwalk. Public parking is provided on the boardwalk side of the street.
