Wanted:  Persons to Participate in Southern Maryland Sailboat Racing Activities (including crewing on big or small boats or just helping out).

Experience is beneficial but not required as long as you:

Most racing is local as part of the Southern Maryland Sailing Association race schedule including Wednesday evening racing in the Patuxent River, occasional weekend round-the-buoy racing in the bay near the mouth of the river, and a few longer distance races scattered throughout the year.  The racing boats are mostly fixed keel boats, varying in size (22 feet and up) moored in the local area (St. Mary’s and Calvert counties).  Racing is usually in mixed handicapped (PHRF) fleets although sometimes one-design. You can check out the racing schedules and find even more information online at www.smsa.com.

Those interested would be added to the crew list and shared with skippers looking for crew.  There is no membership or cost required to crew or get your name on the list (Any other arrangements are between the crew member and the skipper).

If you are interested and crewing and would like to be put in touch with a sailboat skipper, please email sailingcrew@verizon.net with at least your name, contact information, general availability for weekdays or weekends, and any sailing experience that you might have or you can complete the attached questionnaire and email it to the same address.
