Since the Southern Maryland Sailing Association’s founding in
1972, the breadth of programs and member benefits has continued
to grow. Today, SMSA members enjoy a prime waterfront clubhouse
in downtown Solomons Island, Maryland. With its great view of
the Patuxent River and the on-premise small boat / dinghy
storage spaces, the facility is one of a kind.

WHAT WE DO
Runs/host races for boats big and small

MEMBERSHIP CATEGORIES
New members: First year annual dues are prorated for new members. Dues are assessed starting the month after the month of application.
A $150 initiation fee is due upon application for all Regular and Young Adult membership applications.
New members require sponsorship by an existing member. - Don't
have sponsor? Contact the membership chair or stop by our weekly
Friday night social to meet a member!
Memebership dues are charged annually. Members are able to pay their dues in a single annual payment or via monthly installment payments.

2019 is a transition year for SMSA where we move from a January - December membership year to an April - March membership year to better align with the sailing season.
What does this mean for 2019? It means that we will have a one-time 15-month membership year.
For the folks on the monthly installment plan, there is no impact - dues remain at $33/month or $16.50/month.
For the folks that choose to pay in a lump sum, the payment amount for 2019 ONLY will be $495 for Regular membership and $247.50 for Emeritus and Young Adult memberships. (Regular membership example: $396 + $99 ($33/month for Jan – March 2020) = $495).
