Spring 2009 Calendar

Practice Sessions:  Wednesdays, Thursdays, and some Friday practices will be held at SMSA on Solomons Island, after school.  See below for beginning and ending of the season and for some special exceptions.  Starting time will be approximately 3:00 PM.  Finish time will be 6:30 PM. Pick-up by 6:40 PM.  Standard Time is in effect our first week, so finish time will be 5:30 PM with pick-up by 5:40 PM for that week only.

NOTE:  Beginning on Friday, March 27, and until Friday, May 1, Friday practices will be held at St. Mary's College.

Interscholastic competition: Varsity and junior varsity regattas are scheduled by the Middle Atlantic Scholastic Sailing Association and the Central League. Allocations to District events are decided on the Monday preceding the event based on performance in Central League varsity events.  When our schools are involved, we will post those dates on the calendar.  Varsity fleet racing and team racing events will be on weekend days.  JV events will be fleet racing on weekend days.  Away regatta dates will be updated periodically. 

Wed, Thu and Fri Mar 4, 5, & 6 - Boat preparation at SMSA.

Wed, Thu and Fri Mar 11, 12, & 13 - Practice and try-outs at SMSA

Wed Mar 11 - Pot luck supper at SMSA after practice, 6:00 PM.   Parents and siblings invited.   Coaches will give an overview of high school sailing and review the season's schedule.

Wed, Thu and Fri Mar 18, 19, & 20 - Practice at SMSA

Sat Mar 21 - Varsity Fleet Race Regatta at SMSA - Volunteers needed

Sun Mar 22 - Varsity Fleet Race Regatta at Severn Sailing Association (SSA), Annapolis, & JV Regatta at Annapolis Yacht Club (AYC)

Wed and Thu, Mar 25 & 26 - Practice at SMSA

Fri Mar 27 - Practice at St. Mary's College

Sat Mar 28 - Varsity Fleet Race Regatta at AYC & JV Regatta at SSA

Sun Mar 29 - Varsity Fleet Race Regatta at Washington College, Chestertown

Wed & Thu, Apr 1 & 2 - Practice at SMSA

Fri Apr 3 - Practice at St. Mary's College

&Sun, Apr 4 & 5 - Central League Varsity Fleet Race Championship at AYC ( Leonardtown)

Wed & Thu Apr 8 & 9 - Practice at SMSA

Thu Apr 9 - Pot luck supper at SMSA after practice. 6 PM.  Parents and siblings invited.

Sat & Sun Apr 11 & 12 - Central League Varsity Team Race Championship at SSA (No SMSA teams)
