Fall 2008 Calendar

Note:  Varsity and JV regatta dates updated.

Practice Sessions:  Wednesdays, Thursdays, and some Friday practices will be held at SMSA on Solomons Island, after school.  See below for beginning and ending of the season and for some special exceptions.  Starting time will be approximately 3:00 PM.  Finish time will be 6:30 PM. Pick-up by 6:40 PM.  After Standard Time kicks in, Finish time will be 5:30 PM with pick-up by 5:40 PM

NOTE:  Beginning in late September and continuing through October, Friday practices will be held at St. Mary's College.

Interscholastic competition: Varsity and junior varsity regattas are scheduled by the Middle Atlantic Scholastic Sailing Association and the Central League. Allocations to District events are decided on the Monday preceding the event based on performance in Central League varsity events.  When our schools are involved, we will post those dates on the calendar.  Varsity fleet racing and team racing events will be on weekend days.  JV events will be fleet racing on weekend days.  Away regatta dates will be updated periodically. 

Wed, Thu and Fri Aug 27, 28, & 29 - Practices & try-outs for new sailors at SMSA.

Wed, Thu and Fri Sep 3, 4, & 5 - Practice at SMSA

Thu Sep 4 - Pot luck supper at SMSA after practice, 6:00 PM.   Parents and siblings invited.   Coaches will give an overview of high school sailing and review the season's schedule.

Wed, Thu and Fri Sep 10, 11, & 12 - Practice at SMSA

Sun Sep 14 - JV Fleet Race Regatta at Severn Sailing Association, Annapolis

Wed, Thu, and Fri Sep 17, 18, and 19 - Practice at SMSA

Wed and Thu Sep 24 and 25 - Practice at SMSA

Fri Sep 26 - Practice at St. Mary's College

Sat Sep 27 - Varsity Fleet Race Regatta at Severn School, Severna Park

Wed and Thu Oct 1 and 2 - Practice at SMSA

Fri Oct 3 - Practice at St. Mary's College

Sun Oct 5 - Varsity Fleet Race Regatta at Washington College, Chestertown

Wed and Thu Oct 8 and 9 - Practice at SMSA

Sat Oct 11 - Varsity Fleet Race Regatta at SMSA - Volunteers needed.

Sat Oct 18 - Varisty Fleet Race Regatta at Severn School, Severna Park
